<title>Command &amp; Conquer The First Decade Hall of Fame Contest</title>
<link>http://strike-team.net/nuke/html/Article81.html</link>
<description>This is an EA announcement about the Command &amp;amp; Conquer The First Decade Hall of Fame Contest.
This is to launch&amp;nbsp; Command &amp;amp; Conquer The First
Decade DVD pack in February. Below are full details from the EA community
Manager Aaron Kauffman
The
countdown to Command &amp;amp; Conquer The First Decade has officially
begun! We are just over one week from our February 7th ship date to
strike the Command &amp;amp; Conquer community with a decade compilation of
some of the most renowned RTS games of all time. Command &amp;amp; Conquer
The First Decade would not be possible without the living, breathing,
and gargantuan C&amp;amp;C community that is still salivating for anything
C&amp;amp;C and excited about the future.
With over 100 modifications active in the C&amp;amp;C community and
thousands of games being played every day throughout every game
included in The First Decade compilation, we expect there have been
some amazing scenes of destruction, chaos, humor, and rare C&amp;amp;C
moments that exemplify what this historic RTS series is all about. It
is time to capitalize on those scenes and induct them in to the
official, “Command &amp;amp; Conquer Hall of Fame.”
Command &amp;amp; Conquer Hall of Fame
We are launching the Command &amp;amp; Conquer Hall of Fame to seek out the
best screenshots ever taken for any Command &amp;amp; Conquer game or
modification. Dig up those incredible shots, replay the games, and
capture your most breath-taking moments, and send them our way for a
chance to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
With this opportunity comes an exciting contest that will progress through the launch of Command &amp;amp; Conquer The First Decade.
Beginning Monday, January 30th and continuing each week, community
members and gamers of all nature can submit a screenshot from any
previous Command &amp;amp; Conquer game or modification from the past 10
years. From there, our EA RTS development team will pick the Top 5
screenshots based on ANY of the following criteria:

explosive action
humor and creativity
nostalgic effect (capturing historic moments)
modding creativity
cinematic flare

Each week, 5 screenshots
will be inducted in to the Command &amp;amp; Conquer Hall of Fame on our
official site. After a set period of time (to be determined), the
community will narrow down the selection from each week through a
series of voting polls to determine the top Command &amp;amp; Conquer
screenshot of all time. The winner will receive a rare exclusive NVIDIA
7800 GT 256MB graphic card skinned with Command &amp;amp; Conquer.
Runner-up prizes will also be given in the form of some valuable
Logitech goodies. See the image below:

NVIDIA 7800 256MB GT SKINNED WITH C&amp;amp;C!!!!

Rules for screenshot submission are as follows:

You may submit a maximum of 3 screenshots per week
Screenshots must be submitted as a JPG format
Resolution must be 1024x768 or 800x600
Photoshop or any graphic program are prohibited from altercations
Screenshots from modifications based on copyrighted licenses are prohibited
Screenshots from a modification can be from a project currently in production
Profanity and crude imaging are prohibited

Please submit all screenshots to

rtscommunityleader&#115;&#064;&#101;a.com.
For each submission, please include your first and last name, a short
caption for your screenshot, C&amp;amp;C game or modification your
screenshot was taken from, and your e-mail address.
We are very excited to launch the official Command &amp;amp; Conquer Hall of Fame and see what you got!

Long live C&amp;amp;C!

<title>STIFFER BANS FOR CHEATING</title>
<link>http://strike-team.net/nuke/html/Article79.html</link>
<description>All players should now have the message that cheating is not allowed on XWIS. To help stamp out cheating on the server bans have now been increased as follows :

1st time caught cheating : warning and 16 Days server ban
If a player is caught again they will get a final warning and a 32 day ban from the server
If they are caught a 3rd time they will be permanently banned from XWIS.
No second chances will be given for players permanently banned so we recommend that anyone that has cheated in the past get rid of any trainers on their PC and play fair.

Fair play makes the server fun for everyone, so make sure you do your part and do not cheat.
Good luck and have fun everyone.

<title>EA Partners with XWIS Community Service</title>
<link>http://strike-team.net/nuke/html/Article69.html</link>
<description>EA Partners with XWIS Community Service
Discussion topic, help and information can be found by clicking this link

Greetings from your C&amp;C Community Manager!

To continue the ten year anniversary celebration of the widely popular Command and Conquer franchise, I am pleased to reveal EA’s partnership with XWIS (XCC WOL IRC SERVER)!

Through this partnership, all Command and Conquer games formerly supported by EA/Westwood Online will be redirected through XWIS, thus instituting XWIS as the main online game server management team. XWIS is a community driven online game server that launched in October 2003 to replace the XCC Community Ladder. The new and improved features enabled include chat, in-game ranks, matching filters, lobby monitoring, improved Quick-Match, and fully functional automatic ladders for clans and individual tournament players. The beauty of this partnership is that you won’t have to download any external programs to utilize XWIS. All the enabled features and connections to the servers are already integrated into the supported games!

I’m also excited to share with you that the Strike Team will be monitoring the banning and anti-cheat controls on a daily basis and will provide technical support as needed. The Strike Team is a website built of hardcore Command and Conquer fans and is sponsored by the EA German Community Team. Their goal is to ensure a controlled and fun online environment for all players.

XWIS will commence a two week trial period with Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert 2 and Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge. Once this trial is completed on Oct. 20th, XWIS will be supporting the following EA/Westwood online games:

    * Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert 2
    * Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge
    * Command &amp; Conquer Tiberian Dawn
    * Command &amp; Conquer The Covert Operations
    * Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert
    * Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert: Counterstrike
    * Command &amp; Conquer Red Alert: Aftermath
    * Command &amp; Conquer Tiberian Sun
    * Command &amp; Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm
    * Command &amp; Conquer Renegade
    * Dune 2000
    * Nox
    * Emperor: Battle for Dune

EA is 100% dedicated to the Command and Conquer franchise and wants to ensure a strong and secure online gameplay environment. Long live Command and Conquer! We hope to see resurgence in the legions of NOD and GDI followers claiming ground online.

Good luck soldier. Hit the hot keys and get online with Command and Conquer!
