How to play Command & Conquer 95 online
Below is a step-by step guide to playing C&C Gold, online from the
C&C First Decade compliation DVD.
To play on LAN you will need to apply Scorpio's patch as described in the
tutorial.
This patch has been tested, we can confirm that it works very well and it is endorsed by XWIS as an
official patch to play these games on the XWIS servers.

NOTES:
1) C&C Online does not work well with routers and some connection types.
Consider connecting directly from your cable/DSL modem to your PC or setting up
a DMZ on your router.

2) C&C must be running while a game is set up in Westwood Chat.
CREATING YOUR XWIS NICKNAME
Registering a nickname on XWIS is as simple as logging in.
You no longer need to use the Westwood Registration pages, or the account
creation menu in your game.
Simply connect to XWIS, and login with your desired username and password.
Once you have logged in that nickname is automatically registered for you.
Install Instructions for playing ONLINE:
1) Download thipx32.dll from,
http://www.understorm.net/thipx/thipx32.dll.
2) Replace the existing thipx32.dll (rename the original to something like
thipx32ORG.dll so you don�t lose it) with the new file you downloaded from step
1. The file is usually located in, C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Command & Conquer

3) Install Westwood Chat software available for download at
http://xwis.net/downloads/Westwood_Chat-4.221.exe
4) Launch C&C from The First Decade menu.

5) Select Internet Game from the Main Menu. If you get a message stating that
you must install Westwood Chat and register an account, cancel the message and
press ALT + TAB to manually launch Westwood Chat.

6) C&C will minimize and Westwood Chat will launch. Log in to Westwood Chat
with your XWIS nickname. If Westwood Chat does not launch,
manually launch it.


7) Create a C&C game. Click the �Start the Game� button after the other
player has accepted the game options. In the picture below it is grayed, but it
will be clickable once your opponent has accepted the game options.


8) If you do not want to create a game, you can join a C&C game instead by
viewing the open games in the right hand column. Click �Accept options� when you
are ready to begin the game.


9) After the host launches the game both players will see C&C maximize with
the following message display.

10) C&C will then minimize again and Westwood Chat will display the following
message.

11) C&C will then maximize and the user will be in game. If the game does not
maximize click the �Command & Conquer� taskbar button to maximize it.

12) After the game is over the following error message will appear. Click OK
and shut down Command and Conquer via the Task Manager and exit Westwood Chat.
Restart the process from step 4 to play another game.

Install Instructions for playing LAN:
1) Download thipx32.dll from,

4) Launch C&C from the TFD menu.

5) Select Multiplayer Game from the Main Menu.

6) Select �Network� from the menu.

7) Create a game and set your options. Select �OK� to launch the game once
other players have joined.

8) Or select a game and click �Join� to join it.
